About Ava

Ava’s a minimalist who prefers neutral earth tones.  She also appreciates details.  Ava and her fiancé Keira are headed to an ocean cabana in the South Pacific for vacation.  She is looking for some sleek and chic pieces she’ll also want to wear after this trip is no more than a salty memory.  She’s petite and prefers two pieces; she doesn’t mind a cheeky bottom, in fact she prefers them!  She likes to swim, but her primary concern for the style and fit of her suit is that it reflects her chic vibe.  Her favorite source of style inspiration is nature, particularly its colors and textures.  She’s looking forward to relaxing, looking good, and drinking lots of coconut water straight from the coconut (in a reusable straw, of course)!

When envisioning Ava’s style and a feel for her South Pacific cabana vacay, a specific image of Cameron Diaz came to mind.  Diaz’s wearing all neutral colors and a gorgeous straw cowboy-styled hat as she’s walking, leading a horse through the wilderness.  Although the natural context is different than Ava’s upcoming trip, the chic neutral cool styling of Cameron Diaz is exactly the look and feel I wanted to create for Ava!  To see this image of Cameron Diaz, check out my Style Inspiration Board on Pinterest!

The bikini I chose for Ava is the white Cooper Top and Savannah Bottom by Tori Praver.  The bottoms are the star of this neutral chic bikini, with a high leg and cheeky coverage which matches Ava’s style preferences.  The pullover straight neck top is simple and balances the bold styling of the bottoms.  The fabric is ribbed, perfect for Ava’s love of details and textures.  Also, this bikini is made of recycled nylon matching Ava’s interest in sustainability.  BONUS: By purchasing this bikini, Ava supports a woman-owned business and sustainably made swimwear!

Ava’s ocean cabana destination means she doesn’t need more than a wrap for a coverup.  A beautiful, ethically and sustainably made pareo in a neutral tiger print by Faithfull the Brand offers Ava a versatile choose-your-own-style coverup for hopping between her cabana and her resort’s bar to get more coconut water.  I couldn’t think of a better source of color for Ava than a tasteful, neutral animal print for her coverup.   BONUS: By purchasing this pareo, Ava supports an ethical and sustainable woman-owned business!

Since Ava loves details and is all about the lewk, I wanted to include a unique piece of jewelry that compliments her style.  I chose [KI•ELE]‘s KB Cone Shell bangle in gold for the simple, neutral spotted cone shell [KI•ELE]‘s jewelry is made in Hawaii and is inspired by nature.  BONUS: By purchasing this bracelet, Ava supports a woman-owned business!

The brown square aviators by Ray-Ban are chic, modern, and neutral.  Since Ava loves neutrals, she’ll be able to pair these sunglasses with other garments in her wardrobe.  The brown color also makes these sunglasses ideal for year-round use.

Nordstrom’s rectangle straw tote with circular handles, a drawstring lining to keep items secure, and white cowrie shell and brown wood bead detailing incorporates the whites, browns, and tans that are the foundational colors of Ava’s minimalist capsule with unique details.  I especially love the natural white cowrie shells and brown wooden beads – I couldn’t have made a more perfect tote for Ava!

What I love about Treasure and Bond’s straw hat is the brown leather strap accent that is double-wrapped around the woven straw base.  This hat is adjustable ensuring a secure fit when those trade winds blow.  BONUS: When Ava purchases this hat at Nordstrom, 2.5% of net sales will be donated to organizations that empower youth!

An easy waterproof, neutral sandal, Haviana’s slim sparkle flip flop adds a little visual interest to Ava’s shoes.  Being a minimalist doesn’t mean you can’t have a little sparkle!
