About Jess

Jess’s summer is busy.  So busy that it’s already August and she really hasn’t had a chance to shop for a new swimsuit this season.  She considers herself to be fashionable but not necessarily trendy.  That said, Jess is really loving this sage/pistachio color trend, especially because green is her favorite color.  She’s also into classic looking bikinis, but is open to style upgrades of the classic á la 2022.  She describes herself as an all around medium, who’d like some support for her bust and at least moderate coverage for her bum.  The last time she bought a swimsuit was over 5 years ago and she’s ready to make this investment in herself (I’m using her words here!).

Jess’s request for an update on the classic bikini immediately had me thinking of Monday Swimwear.  I chose the Palm Springs Top and Seychelles Bottom in Olive Green Crinkle.  This top has adjustable cups and back tie-closure making it easy to find the right fit.  I liked the wide triangle for an elevated triangle top silhouette that also provides more support.  For those of you new to Monday Swimwear, elevated suits with bust support and excellent fit is what the brand is all about.  These bottoms have moderate bum coverage and can be worn mid or high-rise, giving Jess options.  I loved this green color, it’s soft yet saturated with being too dusty or gray.  The crinkle texture of the fabric is also an elevation on traditional swim fabrics.  BONUS: Monday Swimwear is woman-owned brand and this bikini is made of sustainable material!

I chose this chic ivory v-neck Barcelona Tunic also by Monday Swimwear as the coverup.  The fabric is linen making it breezy and sexy.  The fit is oversized, making it a versatile beach classic.  (Add a pair of shorts and tuck or tie the shirt for a whole new look.).  The v-neck and seashell buttons update this tried and true coverup style.  BONUS: Monday Swimwear is woman-owned brand!

Soft neutrals are the theme of the accessories for Jess’s capsule.  Since this may be her swim look for some time, I wanted to add accessories that have staying power and are in easy neutrals and can easily be worn with other outfits.

I added this fun and pretty reversible Violet Hair Ribbon by Visual Mood for a small pop of print that coordinates well with the sage green, ivory, and soft pinks.  This ribbon can be used as a neckerchief, a hair ribbon, a bracelet, or tied onto the tote instead of the pom poms for a whole other look.

Translucent peachy pink square Shell Shocked Sunglasses by Le Specs look chic.

Check out these cute Teva Universal Slide in Beach Sand (yes, I did say “cute Teva”!) that offers support and water resistance in an easy peachy pink neutral slide.  BONUS: Part of these slides are made from recycled materials, and these shoes can be recycled!

Bucket hats are having a moment so I added this fun terry cloth sage Wave Bucket Hat by Lack of ColorSince Jess’s favorite color is green, she’ll want to wear this with other outfits.

The St. Tropez Tote by Kayu is big enough to hold all of Jess’s things when she’s out swimming but not so big that it becomes cumbersome.  The blush pink handles and pom poms are details that add interest but don’t distract from the overall look and feel of the outfit.  BONUS: Kayu is an ethical and sustainable brand!
