About Mia
Mia’s been watching a lot of old movies while spending time at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. She especially loves movies with Katharine Hepburn and can’t get enough of her glamorous menswear styling. Mia had to postpone her family’s trip to Newport, Rhode Island this year and is REALLY looking forward to taking the trip next year instead. This vacation was planned to be a family reunion with her parents, siblings, and their families. She’s hoping to revamp her swim wardrobe with some versatile garments and accessories that match her overall effortless classic style and are inspired by Katherine Hepburn. She’s a mom; she prefers one piece swimsuits but doesn’t want to look “frumpy” or “matronly”. Mia won’t be doing much swimming; truthfully, she doesn’t like it. She prefers running and pilates and has built some serious strength during the pandemic. After spending so much time at home, she’s ready to dress up and feel great doing it!

The one-shoulder ruched one piece swimsuit in navy by Brigitte is the definition of effortlessly classic. Ruching flatters every body, and navy couldn’t be more appropriate for Mia’s desire to wear the suit for summers to come. Navy, just like black or white is a classic neutral that can be paired with pretty much any other color. Since Mia will be socializing instead of swimming, this one-shoulder suit is a great combination of practical and glamorous. The suit has Brazilian coverage which Mia’s feeling confident about since all of her strength training.
Nothing says Katharine Hepburn like pants! These Caslon white linen pants have a straight leg that instantly looks polished and cool, just like the legendary Hepburn. Linen is an ideal fabric for wearing pants on a summer day because it breathes and feels light against your skin. The bow belt adds a feminine touch to these menswear inspired pants.
Ok, I admit the Kate Spade white trilby reminded me a little more of Spencer Tracy than Katharine Hepburn, but I think that’s appropriate. Wearing this tilted ever so slightly to one side will look oh so effortlessly cool on Mia with this capsule look as well as other summer looks!
I like the crisp white straw tote by Sensi Studio for Mia’s capsule. It flows easily with the rest of her look without distracting from the other statement pieces. When Mia uses it with other items in her wardrobe she can dress it up with silk scarves or colorful bandanas, or keep it bright white as it is. Like the tote, these Steve Madden white slide sandals look intentional yet effortless and will be easy for Mia to wear with other items in her wardrobe.
Max Mara’s white cat eye sunglasses are another easy classic white piece to complete Mia’s look. White, effortless, and classic are definitely a theme for Mia’s capsule!
For a trendy color pop I chose the MaryJane Claverol Acapulco hoop earrings. The striped color hoops in blues, tans, and yellow and the white floral, blue gemstone center are a bright, glamorous addition to the navy and white capsule. Mia’s daughter just might try stealing these for dress up with her pre-teen friends.
